The company controls its entire value chain, from raw materials to distribution, and operates six major e-commerce sites, including five in Europe and one in the U.S. These platforms gather an average of 1.25M unique visitors per month, creating a crucial need for reliable, compliant, high-quality data.
In an environment marked by strict GDPR requirements, a complex technical architecture, and the growing impact of browsers and ad-blockers, Chantelle needed to modernize its tracking ecosystem while strengthening transparency and user protection.
CHALLENGE
Before deploying Didomi and Addingwell, Chantelle faced several major challenges:
• Unstable, hard-to-maintain server-side infrastructure:
The company was already using a server-side setup, but it was fully custom-built, complex to maintain and requiring internal DevOps skills. On top of that, legacy issues, limited flexibility, and strong dependency on technical teams made matters worse.
• Critical impact of ad blockers:
Ad blockers were blocking the entire client-side Google Tag Manager, preventing the collection of a significant part of traffic, blocking consent display, and severely degrading analytics and attribution.
• Lack of international flexibility:
Latency gaps between U.S. and EU sites, due to a server-side setup deployed only on EU servers, were harming measurement, ad performance, and user experience.
• Insufficient transparency with the previous CMP:
The former tool did not allow for sufficient granularity, partner-level management, or clear and maintainable documentation.
Chantelle wanted to go much further in transparency, an essential value for a lingerie brand where trust is central.
